Willie (Mary) Walters was born in Mississippi, the eldest of ten
children. Her schooling was in Mississippi where she graduate in
1966. Graduated from Northern Michigan University School of Nursing.
Worked as a Nurse until she entered the US Army. She served eight
years left the Army as a Staff Sergeant.
Mary accompanied her family overseas spending a total of nine
consecutive years in Germany and Italy respectively as her spouse
fulfilled his contract as a Department of Civilian. Mary did not let
grass grow under her feet became busy with various civic and local
organizations she served as Chairman of Volunteers for American Red
Cross, Cub Scout Den Mother for her son's pack. She was later
employed American Military Hospital in the Psychiatric Unit as a
nurse until their move to Italy.
In Vicenza Italy she served as Volunteer Coordinator for Army
Community Service, volunteered for American Red Cross, President of
SETAF Officers & Civilian Wives Club, Secretary for North Atlantic
Girls Scouts European Division, and President of Protestant Women of
the Chapel. Mary was employed as an Alcohol and Drug Specialist and
Secretary.
In Sapulpa she actively participates in many community activities.
The family relocated to Sapulpa, Oklahoma in December of 1992.
February 1993 Mary began to volunteer at Community Care, she was
hired for the position in May 1993.
She has been the wife of Kenneth for 31 years. They have 5 children,
8 grand and 2 great grand children.
